We are looking for a full-time Mid-Level Software Developer to join a team building automated testing for a Clinical Trial platform. You will report to and take direction from the team Lead, writing high-quality automated tests and strengthening the shared test framework. Backend and the API layer are the priority focus.

Responsibilities
- Work with the customer support and QA teams to analyze bug escapes in real time: write automated tests that reproduce the bug and confirm the fix works
- Get familiar with the prioritized list of platform functionality
- Learn the platform's Playwright-based E2E test framework and the individual backend service test frameworks
- Review QA, UAT, and production bug escapes
- Work on actually fixing identified bugs, not just writing tests to reproduce them
- Write automated tests to close coverage gaps for priority platform functionality
- Improve the test framework with helpers and shared code that let the whole team build automated tests faster, including AI-based capabilities
Requirements
- Strong Python development skills, with a backend and API-layer focus as the priority
- Experience with PyTest or similar Python testing frameworks
- Experience working with React in frontend and end-to-end testing contexts
- Strong software development skills (this is a developer role, not a QA-only role)
- Experience writing automated tests and clean, reusable, maintainable test code
- Proficiency with version control (Git) and Agile development processes
- Familiarity with SQL databases and API testing
- Experience using Playwright to author E2E tests is a strong plus
- Experience building or extending shared test frameworks and helper libraries is a strong plus
- Exposure to AI-based test tooling, agentic workflows, or building AI agents/skills is a strong plus
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools is a strong plus
- Excellent knowledge of English, written and spoken
