What does the org look like?
As you know, Blue Grid focuses on building dedicated remote teams for our Partners. That means that there can be multiple teams operating under one of our Partner’s brands (ex. ReCharge Payments) within Blue Grid – Support, Development, Marketing… and you’ll belong to one of those teams.
All Blue Grid’s teams work directly with our respective Partners, with most of the day-to-day communication happening through Slack and Zoom (tools used depend on the team/Partner).
While each team has its priorities and KPIs, teamwork is a quintessential part of Blue Grid’s culture and being a BlueGrider. This means that the different teams work and support each other by sharing knowledge, expertise, and best practices, thus drastically shortening the learning curve for new members.
Will I get some training?
The short answer is – yes.
Each of our Partners runs a unique product differing in its architecture, business & marketing goals, and customer experience. We felt it essential to remove any bottle-necks in the communication flow, which is why you’ll directly train with our Partner’s peers and the Blue Grid team members you belong to.
This way, you get the first-hand experience about the product, the technologies fueling it, and what the product roadmap is, putting you in an excellent spot to get both the bigger picture about the product you help support as well as your day-to-day assignments. You’re also being connected directly to the decision-makers on the other side of the room, which speeds up getting answers to new questions down the road. And you’re on fast-track to pick up on all the inside scoops and how-to’s that your peers use to be more efficient in their day-to-day. Yay!
Do we get a Project manager?
The short answer is – no.
Having a Project manager (or similar figure) would slow down the flow of communication, something we very much want to avoid.
Instead, you’re working directly with peers and key stakeholders at our Partner’s company, ensuring you get as-instant-as-possible access to all the relevant information and data you might need.
Also, all more significant projects within a team usually have a Task owner associated with them. That person (or group) serves you as a reference for timelines, deliverables, documentation, and questions.
I have a question that is not in the documentation – how do I know who to ask?
Each team has its own escalations workflows mapped out. So at any given time, you’ll know who to send the question to.
Once you get the answer, we expect you to update the documentation so that other team members can benefit from your hunt for knowledge.
Any certification options?
In most cases, Blue Grid’s partners run an internal certification protocol, either through internal workshops or third-party platforms.
In addition to that, supporting personal growth and development is one of Blue Grid’s core values. This is why you get access to the Blue Grid Udemy account. Depending on your business results and interests, additional certifications can be arranged.
Who handles questions about my position, salary, career path, vacation days…?
We got your back – all these questions are a good fit for Blue Grid’s People team. So if you have any questions about changes in your current position, the team you work with, your career choices, available certification, extended vacation days… They are there to help.
What equipment do I use?
Blue Grid supports many different teams and partners in their day-to-day life. To make sure operations are running smoothly for all of them, the teams are mostly running on OsX hardware.
If you need to upgrade, change or modify your equipment, our Help Desk team will help you out.
